Editorial Standards

Editorial Policies

Calculator7 is used by millions of people to make real decisions. These are the standards we hold ourselves to so every calculator, formula, and explanation you find here is accurate, current, and trustworthy.

Research and Sourcing

Every calculator on Calculator7 starts with primary sources: peer-reviewed studies, official standards (NIST, WHO, IRS, ISO), government datasets, and respected textbooks. We cite the formulas and assumptions we use, and we prefer up-to-date references over outdated rules of thumb.

Expert Review

Calculators in specialized fields — finance, health, physics, chemistry, construction — are reviewed by contributors with relevant academic or professional backgrounds. Reviewers verify formulas, units, edge cases, and the wording of any guidance shown to users.

Accuracy and Testing

Each tool is tested against known examples and reference results before it ships. We run automated checks on the math, validate input ranges, and flag impossible or unsafe combinations. If a calculator can produce a misleading result outside a normal range, we say so in the tool itself.

Updates and Maintenance

Standards, tax rates, conversion factors, and best practices change. We periodically review every calculator and update both the formulas and the explanatory content. The "Last updated" date on each calculator reflects the most recent substantive review.

Corrections

If you spot an error, a stale reference, or a confusing explanation, please tell us. We investigate every report, correct verified issues promptly, and update the "Last updated" date. Significant corrections are noted on the page.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial decisions are made independently of any advertising, sponsorship, or commercial partnership. Sponsored content, if ever present, is clearly labeled and never influences the formulas, recommendations, or rankings inside our calculators.
